A modern retreat with glass walls, warm materials, and seamless indoor-outdoor living that celebrates nature and light.
Dune Crest is a coastal hillside residence that redefines elevated living through sculptural form, adaptive design, and elemental materiality. Nestled into a sloping terrain overlooking the Baltic Sea, the home rises from the dune-scape with a low, grounded profile that gradually opens to dramatic panoramic views.
Drawing inspiration from wind-shaped cliffs and organic coastal formations, the architecture flows along the contours of the land, minimizing disruption to the natural topography. Curved concrete walls, cedar slats, and bronze-toned metal accents merge durability with aesthetic sensitivity, while full-height glazing and cut-out patios create a dynamic play between shelter and exposure.
A central atrium anchors the layout, bringing light deep into the interior and offering a moment of pause and reflection. Public spaces unfold around this core—an open living/kitchen pavilion, a floating mezzanine library, and a dining area that opens fully to a wind-protected courtyard with a sunken firepit and ocean-facing plunge pool.
Private quarters are tucked into the rear slope, maximizing thermal mass and privacy. Each bedroom includes private terraces and reading nooks carved into the thick walls, framing views like curated artworks.
Sustainability is embedded throughout: geothermal heating, a green roof system, natural ventilation paths, and stormwater reuse blend function with environmental respect. More than a coastal getaway, Dune Crest is an architectural journey—an interplay of horizon, habitat, and human presence.
